Our Queen.

The Legacy of the Queen of Sheba'

The Queen of Sheba is an African Arabian Queen. She is rumored to have been from Ethiopia, Nigeria, Tanzania and Arabia. The most written history of her is found in Ethiopia, the horn of Africa, very close to modern day Egypt, yemen and Israel.

This ancient queen is known for a few legendary feets and is one of the very few royal queens from this geography to have as much written down in universal history.

First Candace or Queen Sheba is known for her victory in defending or nation against Alexander the Great. Research also finds her fame in Tanzania, where archeologist uncovered a temple built for her. In Ethiopia she is the mother of the nation. And in Nigeria she is rumored to have a tomb. She is written into the Bible as the love interest of King Solomon who ruled the enitire world outside of great her African Kingdom. There love affair was rumored as legend has it to be so  beautiful that The King was moved to right the song of solomon because of it. Ethiopians believe their child to be the founding Patriarchial Dynastye that they now live under. Ethioipia also has the oldest Boble in the world.

The Queen of SSheba is legend and mystery. Her story has never been told and her daughters have long not ruled the earth. For the tale goes that upon meeting her love King Solomon and bearing his child she ruled that  no longer will a Queen inhabot a throne. THat her lobe for her king Solomon would be represented by their child, crowning Ethiopia as a a province of Israel as a result of their Union.

But what made this queen so irristibly fabulous. What was it about this womans army that made her invincible and her love that made her famous. Was it in the way she thought, the ways in which she spoke. What was it about the way she wore her hair? How did she know what she knew in order to be a queen.

When I was a very young child, my mother took me to a public education program with A.C.O.R.N. Outside of the Song of Solomon in my bible at home, I had never learned anything about her. There was a Jewish woman who was in charge that day for storytelling, this particular story was about the Queen of Sheba and king Solomon. My education that day was an enriching experiencing in world history. The Queen was known for victory in war, powerful seduction and wealth imaginable is what I learned. I learned that she courted Solomon with her mind, not her beauty. As grew older and reflected on the riddels I learned that, I understood how her mind could be her beauty, her power and her weatlth. As an older woman and advocate for positive social change, building on the legacy of ACORN I can see how her ledership would be so needed and beneficial to the princesses of the day.

You can do it. The time is RIGHT NOW. I beleive if the Queen of Sheba were alive today she would teach young women again to rule. In her country of Ethiopia young women are suffering a horrible rape culture, that was not heard of in her reign. I think that if she was born as an American today she would challenge with riddles the presence of mind the abusive mysogenitsic, sexist and abusive rap cultures. I beleive she would work to repair broken families like Iyanla Vanzant and seek a Universal world presence like OPrah winfrey. I can see her as every young woman's best friend and queen leaving them to want for nothing but to walk in her shadow her footsteps knowing they are protected by her love and her soldiers.

But there is no Queen of Sheba. "WE are all WE got"-Every one of us can be judges, magistrates, doctors, scientist, presidents, business owners, beauty professionals, fashion professionals, entertainers with huge audiences, community organizers, business owners, teachers, writers, and masters of our own destiny.

In Africa the comming of age ceremony and ritual for young women is very important. With love care, ceremony and celebration  we welcomed into society.
