Good Girls, Bad Boys

Every good girl does NOT need a bad boy take it from Taylor Swift.

Every little boy has the potential to be a great good man. And so we are pulling the rug from under that trend.

Yes we do address male female relationships at our school. Young women attend school and social events with the opposite sex, often times the relations result in love, crushes, friendships and relationships. If we didn't address it we would be behind in the race that the media the radio and popular culture has already established.

I dont want any of my little princesses walking around with their little feelings taken advantage of. However it is very popular in our culture, so do we just let it go down?? No not all. We are bringing back the times of our mothers and grandmothers on this MIC, now! So we suggest fellow citizens, that you get with the program.

We belive in health, wellness strength and balance. Every good girl should have a good boy, that is balance. Bad boys get NO vote.

Q.O.S debutante25@qosdebutantetraingforyouryoungvwomenwrites
I once had a bad boy. He was terrible actually. He was the full extent of naughtiness. I spent a lot of energy trying to rebalance myself after his tornadoe would sweep through. He was really handsome really smart and really rich. This made it hard for me to see him for who he really was, badness. When a young woman loves, she should love a man that follows her rules, respects her heart and follows those directions to a T. He should also come with that direction as an educated person, she shouldn't have to give it to that man.

q.o.s26
A boyfriend should be a friend. If he respects you he will treat you like hios sister and get to know you and respect you especially if he is attartcted to you. If he is just extremely attracted to you but doesnt seem serious he probably is not.He is probably just accustomed to those kinds of relationships. He is probably good for a dance at salsa club if he knows how to dance. But respect is a relationship, lust just is not.

A Q.O.S
Debutante is a Good Girl on her way to becomming a good woman. She should be treated as somenes future mom and as someone daughter.

A princess. A poem by Q.O.S Debutantes

A princess has a  castle in her heart
Her love speaks from  her eyes
Her gift is in her smile.

A princess knows that she is the kingdom and empire.
She is addressed as Her Majesty, and understands her duty and place on the earth and amoungst her nation.

A princess is a simple reminder that we are all royalty.
Her character maybe sweet, it may even be strong. Yet she is still always, sugar and spice and everything nice.

She knows the ingredients to life thats right
and is polight

And although she is a diamond
getting the attention of Kings,
like coal she is covered with a cloak made of the night sky
as brillant as the stars and the sun itself
with no need to disguise.

She comes from society itself
Her position of responsibilty
is her nest.
Fly sparrow-
Sing
for the princess is ready for her kingdom
A princess is chosen to lead the nation.

A princess.
A princess is a (born to be) Queen
A princess is an (born to be) Empress
A princess is a  Goddess
Like Mary Magdelelene
A princess is a good girl
A princess is a leader
A princess is a conqueror
A princess is a teacher
A princess is a mother
A queen of queens is a princess.

I'd l like to be a princess and none other than a Queen.
Be who I was born to be
For  me it shall be holy
to overcome what holds me
for me its mandatory
to represent Jah glory
Because a princess knows we were all born with crowns and a princess knows how to show you how.
Thats right.

High Fashion

High Fashion has been in my family for generations. I have been blessed to be the graddaughter of a prominentt Carribean American designer, Mildred Joyce Forde who made her debut as showtime at the Apollos nightly Weekly Fashion Performance. I have been to the ritz, the cabana and to the moon with her. I have modeled for local television, and made appearances at local press conferences and community events.

As an aspiring designer, I have earned internships and mentorship under influencial professionals in the industry. I have worked at countless public fashion shows. I have managed numerous couture and fashion photoshoots, and I have contributed my ideas to many designers and business owners in the industry.

My mothers family actually comes from an ancient tribe of princesses. Fashion and glamour were one of the most natural parts of being my mothers child. My great grandmothers and their grandchildren taught me about sass and pizazz and putting on the charm. Where my mother was all city, my cousin was all country pretty. Where my aunt was all bossy mean and flossy she could also be very fashionably charming and funny. She was the one with the stories. And we have many many stories that come with our royalty; those are just a few, and I find that we try our best to tell it with our style. Of course the house, the job and the best meal were prime grounds for racking up royalties, however it was the  outfit always  to tell the WHOLE story. I hated those satin bows and satin trimmed socks, I did. (Lord you know I did), but I thank my mother now for her old school vintage class. Because I was the only girl in m
y highschool with gucci links, and diamond cut princess rings from Guyana. They cost a lot period and I appreciate my family for their gifts of style and class.

Because of family gifts and the industrty I have acumulated a tremendous knowledge in highfashion, a benefit to anyone wanting to make an impression become or mingle with impressionable people.

High Fashion at our program is taught from a three day curriculi, ending with a photoshoot. We teach the basics of high fashion whether or not you are interested in being a professional in the fashion industry. Our goal for this is to make you all educated consumers of the worlds best merchandise. . And so that naturally, you make an impression and look your best wherever you are.

This is a very fun part of the course that teaches you about fashion around the world.

Our Queen.

The Legacy of the Queen of Sheba'

The Queen of Sheba is an African Arabian Queen. She is rumored to have been from Ethiopia, Nigeria, Tanzania and Arabia. The most written history of her is found in Ethiopia, the horn of Africa, very close to modern day Egypt, yemen and Israel.

This ancient queen is known for a few legendary feets and is one of the very few royal queens from this geography to have as much written down in universal history.

First Candace or Queen Sheba is known for her victory in defending or nation against Alexander the Great. Research also finds her fame in Tanzania, where archeologist uncovered a temple built for her. In Ethiopia she is the mother of the nation. And in Nigeria she is rumored to have a tomb. She is written into the Bible as the love interest of King Solomon who ruled the enitire world outside of great her African Kingdom. There love affair was rumored as legend has it to be so  beautiful that The King was moved to right the song of solomon because of it. Ethiopians believe their child to be the founding Patriarchial Dynastye that they now live under. Ethioipia also has the oldest Boble in the world.

The Queen of SSheba is legend and mystery. Her story has never been told and her daughters have long not ruled the earth. For the tale goes that upon meeting her love King Solomon and bearing his child she ruled that  no longer will a Queen inhabot a throne. THat her lobe for her king Solomon would be represented by their child, crowning Ethiopia as a a province of Israel as a result of their Union.

But what made this queen so irristibly fabulous. What was it about this womans army that made her invincible and her love that made her famous. Was it in the way she thought, the ways in which she spoke. What was it about the way she wore her hair? How did she know what she knew in order to be a queen.

When I was a very young child, my mother took me to a public education program with A.C.O.R.N. Outside of the Song of Solomon in my bible at home, I had never learned anything about her. There was a Jewish woman who was in charge that day for storytelling, this particular story was about the Queen of Sheba and king Solomon. My education that day was an enriching experiencing in world history. The Queen was known for victory in war, powerful seduction and wealth imaginable is what I learned. I learned that she courted Solomon with her mind, not her beauty. As grew older and reflected on the riddels I learned that, I understood how her mind could be her beauty, her power and her weatlth. As an older woman and advocate for positive social change, building on the legacy of ACORN I can see how her ledership would be so needed and beneficial to the princesses of the day.

You can do it. The time is RIGHT NOW. I beleive if the Queen of Sheba were alive today she would teach young women again to rule. In her country of Ethiopia young women are suffering a horrible rape culture, that was not heard of in her reign. I think that if she was born as an American today she would challenge with riddles the presence of mind the abusive mysogenitsic, sexist and abusive rap cultures. I beleive she would work to repair broken families like Iyanla Vanzant and seek a Universal world presence like OPrah winfrey. I can see her as every young woman's best friend and queen leaving them to want for nothing but to walk in her shadow her footsteps knowing they are protected by her love and her soldiers.

But there is no Queen of Sheba. "WE are all WE got"-Every one of us can be judges, magistrates, doctors, scientist, presidents, business owners, beauty professionals, fashion professionals, entertainers with huge audiences, community organizers, business owners, teachers, writers, and masters of our own destiny.

In Africa the comming of age ceremony and ritual for young women is very important. With love care, ceremony and celebration  we welcomed into society. We want you to make a great noise with tambrels for these young women. The world welcomes you refined and fed. You have been trained under the example of the the best, the most royal. You represent professionalism, refinement class strength and vision. You have been nortured in literacy, creativity, prepardness, social etiquette, leadership, and high fashion. Your spirit is new and your eyes sparkle with determination. You have a everlasting joy that can never be taken from you. Because of you, congratulations to the world.

Welcome to The Queen of Sheba Debutanjtes Training for Young Women.

Is "Twerking" Dancing.

No twerking is not dancing.

Queen of Sheba Debutantes do not think twerking is "cute".

Last week I had a heated debate about the subject with a panel of women on facebook.
Their resolve was that twerking was a womans way to express herself, while my resolve was that twerking is nothing but an EMBARRASSMENT to the urban community.

...As if we really need another one of those.

Millions of dollars are contributed to the arts every day, can you really see yourself donating millions of dollars in the name of the artistic expression of "twerking", really? No, I didn;t think so. Imagine Madison Square Garden being sold out for a Twerking team? How about The Met, Lincoln Center, BAM?

When dancing an audience should be able to walk away with a better understanding of you but also of the awesome power of God and creation.  If twerking is your style, your perception of life must be dark, dull, complacent and uninspired. You can only do what you know.

The earliest known Dance  troups were found ancinet AAfrica. Egpt to be exact. They belonged to the scared temple of Het-Heru. Dance was a way to be thankful for life itself, through their bodies, women and men inspired as well as educated, expressing beautiful and soulful things with their bodies that their mouths couldn't; The "club" was actually  a holy place. Music was also seen as a gift from heaven.

Throughout the ages dancing has been used as therapy, entertainment, fitness, personal expression and fun. Still at its core it is EXPRESSIVE. What is TWERKING expressive of? Sex.  It is not inspring at all. I don't watch a twerking video and think, hey that young woman made me want to reach for the stars, or anything of the sort.

If it cannot get you that great job, married into a respectable family or a noble peace prize why do it??? There is no place in normal society, NONE, that can offer POSITIVE suport for this artform. Instead  realisticly it promotes low self esteem, un-meaningful courting, and irresponsible mating, and rape culture.

Expressing yourself should be something you are proud of. Having a behind that could do tricks is not exaclty and accomplishment and if you think it is you need to get your head together. If you feel sensual, be sensual but inspiring, not perverted.

Lets Move

You are all probably familiar with Michelle Obama's lets move campaign.Have you began moving? What do you know about fitness? Did you know that fitness can probably get you to do this if you put your mind through it?

Please take a moment to watch this Chi-Kung demonstration.

Impressive right? Chi-Kung is intense training for mind, body and soul. The results are well worth the trainiing. Chi-Kung' s goal is invincibilty.

Develop your mind and your body. Training your body is training your mind. When the world sees you they should see a strong, poised and powerful young woman.

Presence as a woman should represent vitality, health and energy, and in this disrespectful time, even more so. Our spirits should display happiness, power and strength. With a determined, disciplined and open mind, you can create an awesome person within you, if they can, why can't you?

I'd like to introduce you to Elisabeth Akinwale.

Her health and strength are really inspirational. She has really made a statement about women being a force to deal with in the fitness industry. You can follow her on facebook and Twitter. I am positive you will be inspired by her ethic to stay active motivated and healthy and a young woman.

\Do you work out. Do you know anything about form and posture, yoga or aerobics? Any aspiring dancers in the building? Studies show all these things, (like) running, jogging, playing, working out, staying fit and health conscious are all important factors to living and enjoying life.

The first and most important step in  is nailing the perfect teacher. Your teacher should understand the lifestyle that goes into fitness. You want a teacher that can show you how to respect and discipline your body. Training is a commitment that should be undertaken with resposible duty and engagement. The great thing about exercise is that you can benefit in  from it all the days of your life, especially if you start early.

The sky is the limit. #letsmove

So you are a Bad B****?

"B**** don't kill my vibe"-Kendrick Lamar.

Have you ever been called a "bitch"? How did it feel?

I am human, living in this world the same as you. Yes, I have been called the B word. And yes I have listened to radio stations that play songs that use this word in their music. As people we need to work, and we also need to play, sometimes for some of us playing gets carried away-but, we don't play those games.. Queen of Sheba's play with class, integrity and honor. We just do not play that...

I've heard b**** many times in my life, but I remember the first time being called the B word really hurt me. He let the word leave his lips as if it were my name. He knew me, had my fidelity and commitment, YET, It was very
natural and easy for him to address me as this in making his point. Silly me, I thought that word was reserved for some women. In didn't sit well with me that this person I loved considered it a term for ALL women, including me. What ever happened to resolving differences like adults?

This was a real eye opener for me, It didn't matter who I was, or what the context or nature of the conversation was, I was seen as a Bitch, end of story. I had changed this person's life and I was extremely loyal to him, yet he relying on what he knew to be correct betrayed me with his choice of words. This word not only is derogatory and cold, but it is a word used to describe YOU, when you should actually be addressed as princess, young woman, damsel...most naturally. Yet G's up  Ho*'s down is the code of this dejected world, and many of our future husbands and fathers celebrate this sentiment with much zeal. I say to you that the continued use of this word can only contribute to a world of female VICTIMS. Rick Ross raps- “Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it/ I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.”- Are you a Queen or are you a victim? Honestly ask yourself?

Time for change. There has to be an understanding between men and women that us daughters of the almighty creator ought to be regarded with honor and consideration at all times without excuse or exemption. If you are having issues within your intimate relations with your woman, take it to a psychiatrist, don't poison national and international air waves. But there isn't this understanding in the studios of Hot 97, Interscope, Young Money, or Maybach music. Young women are plundered for their bodies, not for the natural intrinsic value they bring to family and society.
Society will have to learn how to  love us, and how to not be afraid to love us.
Young women, when you are truly ready, you will learn that there is nothing wrong with being submissive too, or cooperating WITH someone you TRULY love, respect, honor and cherish. However, this person must be worthy of your cooperation. A partner must be poised to respect you like he does the women in his close circle and family. Your submision is in exchange for maintaining and improving your quality of life, not lowering it. You are not a bad person for demanding respect; This does not make you a Bitch.

A bitch is an animal. She is walked on a leash. She is extremely loyal, and if domesticated answers to a master. She rolls over occasionally and allows you to rub her tummy. She doesn't sleep in a bed, use a toilet, bathe in a shower or dine with a knife and fork. She sleeps on the floor or outside, has to
be walked, gets hosed down, and eats from a bowl.

You are a woman, not a b****.
You can create for yourself and for the benefit of others, you can speak and make a difference. You have an opinion that counts and that under law must be counted. You have dreams and ambitions; and your life being the only one you have to live, is extremely important and precious to you. You are someones future mother. You are someones child, someones friend, someones niece, someones cousin and most important you should be someone to yourself. Yet, you are under attack consistently. Every time you turn on the radio, the music channel or go to a party or club...your potential, your heart, your mind, and your soul is attacked.

Okay you 're not a B***, you are a Bad Bi***. And what is that? I understand, its like the N word. Take an oppressive word and create it to be something empowering. "I'm a bad B***", basically that means that you are very attractive, shop at the most exclusive stores and can have anyone that you desire. You call the shots depending on how many cute guys you can subdue with your sex. Your mom should be really proud. Your worth is basically defined not by you, but by how many men can follow you  out of a room, and how many women can envy you- men who probably don't have degrees, don't have jobs and aren't taking care of their own daughters, but ooze sex appeal and charm, and "talk that talk"; as Rihanna says.

What would it take for you to avoid using this word. How easy would it be for you to separate yourself from people who use this word and who think using it is cool and alright. It's everywhere; you must be the change you wish to see in the world. Write about it, set standards amongst your social circles, start rallies, plan projects projects. Do something, this is about YOU.

Being a Queen is about governance and responsibility. Its about taking responsibility and authority in your world. Being a Queen is about possesing the power to affect positive change.

As it stands you have the potential to be great women, and if you allow anyone to address you simply because you are a woman as bi***, slu***, or hoe., you are failing to see your true potential.

Throughout our program all our debutantes are addressed as Princess. If your name is Tameka, your portfolio will read Princess Tameka, and at roll this is how you will be called.

At Graduation you will be given the title of Queen- . You will be  awarded with the title The Honorable Queen Tameka of  the order of the Q.O.S Debutantes. You earned it, it's yours.

As you go forward in your life, it will be with new eyes and new ears. You will attract new circles and affect real change. Because of your example, no one will know what a B**** is, and anyone who does insist on using these derogatory words when addressing you will jeopardize their place in society, for you are a Queen.
